We are to take care of the less fortunate

There is plenty of scriptural verses written in the bible to indicate that Christians must help the brethren with all sorts of actions ranging from sharing what they have especially with the poor and disenfranchised because those who choose to do the former, clearly become a strong beam of light in the eyes of many unbelievers.

“Those who are gracious to the poor lend to the Lord, and the Lord will fully repay them.” Proverbs 19:17 “Give to those who ask, and don’t refuse those who wish to borrow from you.” Matthew 5:42″Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices.” Hebrew 13:16. “You received without having to pay. Therefore, give without demanding payment.” Matthew 10:8.

“We are called to be the light of the world.” John 8:12

The difficulties of life are many in this world. We all need each other for something, you know? Think about it. The homeless, especially, needs food and a dwelling, among many other livelihood needs. No wonder why God gave us all sorts of godly gifts and we know that “there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:4.

Give something valuable to a person in need today. Buy them a special good meal, say nice words of encouragement to them and point them always to the Lord. As God saves us by grace, be graceful to those who are less fortunate financially on earth than you. Be a shoulder to those who need, all the days of your life.

The simple act of cleaning up your closet or garage and donate objects that you don’t use regularly is a great start. Remember: We have because God allowed us to obtain. Everything is His.

  1. Those in need, usually the financially poor who don’t have a place to live or food to eat.
