By faith and faith alone we must adore God

Not all biblical psalms were written by David but many were. I’m glad they were, in fact. His devotion and faith is clearly shown in the Bible especially after written Psalm 140, 141, and 143. It doesn’t take a forensic Bible phenomenologist to find evidence for this former claim!

“I seek refuge in you.”

“Reveal to me the way I should go.”

“Teach me to do your will.”

“Deliver me from trouble.”

“Don’t let me die.”

“I trust in you.”

“I exact you my God and king.”

“I am your servant.”

“Protect me Lord.”

“I call to you… hurry, help me! Listen to my voice.”

How many friends and family members do you have today who live their lives by such great faith? In total submission to the Lord, I mean? I don’t know anybody including me, I admit.

David wrote, “Don’t hide your face from me or I will be like those going down to the pit.” (Psalm 143:7). Sure, many of us conceptually believe in the former piece of scripture but in my many years of being a Christian and now a minister of Jesus Christ, I can count in my hands those of us who really surrender ourselves to the king in the way David did.

David does show his humanity in the book of Psalm by wishing bad for those who oppress him with statements like these also in the book of Psalm.

“Let hot coal fall on them.”

“Let them be thrown into fire.”

“I hate them with extreme hate.”

Thankfully, we followers of the way understand that hate is an antithesis to the works of the Lord and therefore, we don’t wish such fates even for our worse enemies. That’s the benefit to knowing the lamb!

Whether is Solomon, David, you or me, we must adore the Lord and walk in His path for the advancement of His kingdom and the gospel with David’s faith. It is by faith and faith alone that we must adore God like David did.

Be a man or woman of strong faith and in everything, love the Lord with everything you have. Flee from injustice and seek to do good. Hate of any sort Doesn’t come from God and lack of faith in God will only bring you destruction in this life. Dare to be different and be faithful.

What an honor it is to be with God. Blessings to you!
