Whoever wants to be great must become a servant

To serve is to be great. Jesus Christ, our savior fully man and God served much while on earth. Let’s never forget the teachings of service found in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many,” or what is written in 1 Peter 4:10, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

Which gift(s) have you received from God? Are you using these gifts to serve others in your daily life in the name of the living God? Remember: “The greatest among you will be your servant.”   Matthew 23:11. We were born to serve and love others — To assist and give. As we give for God, much is received! “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38.

Just remember that your portion isn’t always money or anything of monetary value. Give hope and much hope will be given to you in Christ Jesus. Give peace and much peace will be given to you in the name of the Lord. Be aware of the prosperity gospel, however, who explore Luke 6:38 as a way to gather your money for their own material vanities in this world. if you are in a position of lending, lend because God instructs us to do in love, “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.” Luke 6:35.

“And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35. We are called to serve for our own sake. Fortunate are those who understand the former early in life because much good can be done when we have the Lord’s concepts in our hearts at an early age. We are able to influence some youngsters to do the same as us leading more youth to accept the gospel early on. What a blessing it is to be with God and serve Him. Service is good and can make you great. Don’t cease to do good and serve!

“This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”  Titus 3:8. Let’s serve our neighbors in humbleness and love always fleeing from flesh behaviors, ” “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.  For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”   Galatians 5:13-14

Glory is to be given to God. That His work be a shared with all nations and through the brethren. Let’s choose to serve above all things. It is our duty. It is our call. It is our destiny. To love others as we love ourselves.
