Much Discernment Christians Need These Days

The world maybe getting better as far as medicine goes but to me at least, medicine is perhaps getting more advanced because of how decaying our overall health has become. No wonder why the price of health care goes up every year! There are people sick everywhere.

A number of our own perceptions may not be accurate or even true, sadly. That’s why much discernment Christians need to have these days in order to be afloat and prepared for the many curveballs they experience in life. We live in an evil world full of unexpected traps where the majority of people, Christians or not, pretend to be something that they aren’t for social acceptance. It’s true. Go figure

There are so many pretentious people out there ready to hide their own vices at your and mine expense, so they plan. I see the former and say no, unequivocally and firmly because God has taught me to be so.

In scripture we learn that our yes be yes and that our no be no in Matthew 5:37. Easier said than done for most, I recognize yet important and necessary in practice. Be weary of anyone who is trying to change your core values for their self gain or hide behind a curtain of shame for self defense. Your word must mean what you intend it to mean.

Brethren, pray for discernment and ask God to give you much understanding! “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12.

Trust is possible but discernment must exist and spirits must be tested, always with caution and care. Failing to do so will have unexpected consequences in your life, I’ve experienced.

We learn in Micah 5:6, “Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend.” My first marriage ended because my wife committed adultery with our neighbor. It is low, I know, but it happened. Some of my biggest confrontations occurred with those I considered to be my friends. What a rough reality yet factual.

Understand: The lessons of the Lord aren’t to be taken lightly! I thank God for every piece of scripture and for having a great God everyday in my life. We all should, in my opinion, say and sing praises to the only true God. He opens our eyes and ears to much sinful behaviors in life.

Listen carefully: How much envy, pride, hate and jealousy do us humans have? God shows me and He protects us all. What a blessing, I say.

The Lord was serious when he said the former in Exodus 20:1-26,” And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me.”

Oh generation of sinners, hypocrites, and evil doers! Some who hide themselves behind a curtain of shame for self gain at the expense of the innocent are only digging their own grave! Shame be on you fake believer who claim to be of light yet has a heart in Sheol where the dead lives.

Be aware of the evil that exist in the world and
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.always, in every circumstance, test the spirits.” 1 John 4:1. It’s wise and necessary.

Practice discernment! Ask the Lord for more! He is a grateful God who provides to us much wisdom and discernment. Ask and it shall be given to you… seal and you shall find! These were the words of Jesus in the sermon on the mount. Believe in faith! And never forget…

Be aware about the nature of the enemy, “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11-15.

What is not from God is from the devil. “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16. Be aware, “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8.

Pray for discernment. Understand people and in all things, test the spirits. That’s what the Lord tells us to do in the Bible. Why should we do any different? God is all powerful and wise. Listen to Him and live. Ignore His teachings and be prepared to die. Christians, wake up.
