“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16. There is little doubt that our family received much love this week. We are humbled by our church’s generosity! We are indeed attending church in a godly congregation.
My wife Amanda had surgery this past Tuesday to remove scar tissue, an infected cyst in her uterus, among other issues. To our pleasant surprise, four members of the First Baptist Church of Oxford brought us food every evening from various restaurants in town.
Clearly the members of the First Baptist of Oxford fulfill the law of Christ. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2. They treat others as they want to be treated. “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12.
If faith, we continue to live and work. The difficulties of life happen to anyone including you and me. It is only by the love of God that we can cope with the many challenges that we are presented in this life. Glory is to be given to Him, always. So glad that we attend a wonderful church around here.
Thanks be to God.
